To the Glendora Community,(PDF, 152KB)

On Saturday afternoon, our Police Department received information from our community that “ICE” conducted an operation in Glendora.  We recognize that such actions may cause uncertainty or concern among members of our community. We are issuing this statement to clarify the City’s role and reaffirm our commitment to public safety, transparency, and compliance with California law.

The Glendora Police Department operates in accordance with all applicable state laws, including the California Values Act (Senate Bill 54). As such, our officers do not engage in civil immigration enforcement, do not inquire about an individual’s immigration status, and do not detain individuals based solely on civil immigration detainers or requests from federal agencies, unless required to do so under the exceptions permitted by law.

Local law enforcement in Glendora is focused on ensuring the safety and security of all individuals in our community. Our priorities are public safety, crime prevention, emergency response, and maintaining public trust. Effective policing depends on the trust and cooperation of all community members. We are committed to ensuring that no one in Glendora fears reporting a crime, seeking help, or accessing city services.

Federal immigration authorities, such as U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), operate independently and under the jurisdiction of federal law. The City of Glendora and its Police Department do not direct, control, or participate in those operations.

We understand that this is a sensitive issue for many, and we remain committed to open communication and respectful engagement. Residents with questions or concerns may contact the Glendora Police Department.

We are proud to serve this community with professionalism, integrity, and a steadfast commitment to the safety of Glendorans.

Sincerely,

Adam Raymond                                 Michael Randazzo
City Manager                                      Police Chief
