Stage 3: Watering Restrictions

RESTRICTIONS: ALL WATER CUSTOMERS

  • Outdoor watering is restricted between 8 AM- 5 PM
    • Watering limited to 3 days per week. 
    • Watering limited to 5 minutes per station.
    • Irrigation systems with drip irrigation are given an exception for an additional 15 minutes as long as their is no runoff.
  • No washing down sidewalks or driveways.
  • No excessive runoff from landscape irrigation that causes water flow onto an adjoining sidewalk, driveway, street, alley, or gutter.
  • No washing motor vehicles with a hose, unless the hose is fitted with a shut-off nozzle. 

ADDITIONAL RESTRICTIONS: FOR BUSINESSES 

  • Restaurants, cafes, and bars can only serve water to customers upon request.
  • Hotels and motels must display a notice providing guests with the option of choosing not to have towels and linens laundered daily.

*Golf courses, city facilities, city parks, recreational fields, and schools are NOT exempt from the restrictions shown above.

NON-FUNCTIONAL TURF REGULATIONS: FOR COMMERCIAL, INDUSTRIAL, AND INSTITUTIONAL (CII) PROPERTIES

  • Irrigating non-functional turf with potable water was temporarily banned by the California State Water Resources Control Board on June 10, 2022.  A permanent ban begins on January 1, 2027 for public agencies and 2028 for all commercial, industrial, and institutional properties, including HOAs. 

Avoid fines and do your part to prevent water waste. Help us preserve the availability of high-quality fresh groundwater for all City of Glendora residents.
