Urban Water Management Plan

INTRODUCTION

The Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) is a comprehensive planning document that guides the City of Glendora's efforts to provide a reliable and sustainable water supply for the community. Required by California's Urban Water Management Planning Act of 1983, the UWMP is updated every five years and submitted to the California Department of Water Resources.

The UWMP evaluates current and projected water demands, available water supplies, conservation programs, and long term water resource needs over a 25 year planning horizon. The plan helps the City assess its ability to meet future water demands while preparing for challenges such as drought, climate variability, regulatory changes, and population growth.

As required by state law, the UWMP includes a Water Shortage Contingency Plan (WSCP), which outlines the actions the City may take to respond to water supply shortages and emergency conditions. Together, these documents support informed decision making and help ensure a dependable water supply for Glendora residents and businesses.
